Our home is very near Charleston, SC, one of the best vacation destinations in the world. In 2016, readers of Travel + Leisure magazine voted Charleston the No. 1 City in the World! It is located minutes from downtown Charleston, numerous historic places, and several wonderful beaches. (Kiawah, Folly, Sullivan’s Island, and Isle of Palms) It is a townhouse located in a quiet neighborhood just across the street from Whitney Lake and has great views from the balcony. We can accommodate 8 people with three bedrooms and three baths (all ensuite), plus a half bath on the living floor. Other rooms include a formal dining room that seats 8 people, a family room, kitchen with a pantry and breakfast bar. There is a covered front porch and a fenced patio out back. Flat screen TVs with DirecTV are located in the family room and all 3 bedrooms. There is a walkway around the lake for exercise or just a pleasant stroll. Several Fire pits are located along the walking path as well. We also have 2 bikes and 2 kayaks with life jackets available for a paddle around the lake.

The Battery (gorgeous shaded park by the water with lots of amazing oak trees. Great place for pictures!) 6. Horse & Carriage Tour 7. The Aquarium (for families with children. Great for getting out of the heat or rain) 8. Shem Creek in Mt Pleasant (great places to dine with water views. During your stay on Johns Island I recommend: 1. Angel Oak Tree (check visitor hours) 2. Local Farmers Markets (Saturday morning) 3. A trip to Kiawah Beach (Beachwalker Park) 4. Dinner and shopping at FreshFields Village. 5. Breakfast at Sunrise Bistro 6. Drinks at The Tattooed Moose For your convenience: -Food Lion -Bi-Lo (grocery store about 2 miles) -CVS -Gas Stations -Dollar General -Southern Brews Coffee (has drive thru and small eats) .. are all located less than half a mile from the condo for groceries and other needs. Restaurants on the Island: 1. Wild Olive (Upscale Italian) 2. Fat Hen (Casual to upscale Southern) 3. The Krazy Owl (Casual American) 4. JI pizza (order and pickup pizza) 5. The LoopHole (Food Variety and Delivery) 6. Maria’s (Casual Mexican) 8. Sunrise Bistro (local homemade breakfast) 7. McDonalds (2-3 miles from condo) 8. The Tattooed Moose (Casual Southern) 9. Baker and the Farmer (homemade icecream and baked goods) 10. Low Tide (Local brewed beer with great outside space) Beaches: Beach Walker Park (Kiawah Beach) is 15 miles from the condo and is a very cute and natural type of setting with a beautiful boardwalk leading out to the beach. There is a public parking place with entrance fee ranging from $7-$10. I HIGHLY (truly a must!) recommend you stop at FreshFields Village which is on the way out to that particular beach. It has cute little shops like Lily Pulitzer, Vineyard Vines, Ben&Jerrys Icecream shop, Wonderworks Toy Store plus great places to eat like Cantina 76 (tacos and margaritas) King Street Grill and even a place to get sushi. It’s also a great place to get souvenirs. Folly Beach is located on James Island and is about 15-20 miles from the condo in a slightly different direction. Depending on the day and time, along with traffic it can take anywhere from 15-30 minutes to get to the beach. I recommend this beach for those wanting to experience a very cute and quaint little beach town feel with all the typical beach t-shirt shops etc. There is a rooftop bar/restaurant (closed in the winter) with views of the ocean. I also recommend Taco Boy for outside/sidewalk dining, delicious tacos and great margaritas. Public parking is available with a $5-$10 fee.

Located on John's Island, just slightly off the beaten path, is only 10 minutes to historic downtown Charleston. Conveniently located close to a lot of prime golf courses including Kiawah and Seabrook Islands. It takes 20-30 minutes to just about any beach around like Folly Beach, Sullivan’s island & Isle of Palms. This lovely little cottage was originally intended as a mother-in-law suite for the owner's artist mother. The downstairs is a simple open studio space with treated concrete floors and lots of light from the windows. There is a queen size bed and the fold-down futon in this room. There is an Amish style electric heater for those extra chilly nights. There is a small bathroom with shower. The back door opens to the patio with a great full-size grill. Upstairs is meant to be the original "living quarters" with a bedroom, larger full bathroom, closet, queen size bed. There is an eat-in kitchen with basic pantry supplies and dishes enough for 6-place setting. Basic pots, pans & cookie sheet are also available. Full size refridgerator/freezer, electric oven/cooktop, dishwasher & microwave. Guests are able to access the entire guesthouse property. There are extra sheets, blankets, bath towels and pillows to ensure your comfort. As a lifetime local, I can be your concierge to most things Charleston. Some of my favorite recommendations include... Beach: 1st choice is Folly Beach, its the most chill and has the best surf all the way to the end at the Washout. You would definitely need to eat at Woody's Pizza while you are out can go in your beach clothes and its a bar & family friendly, too! 2nd choice: Kiawah Beachwalker Park. It is part of the county parks system and has toilets, showers, concession stand, chairs & umbrellas Restaurants: There are sooooo many options. If you are looking for closely and a little more upscale go for The Fat Hen or Royal Tern. Bar near you: Tattooed Moose. Downtown dining choices are endless. Top fine dining picks are FIG, Husk, Oak or The Drawing Room. I use Yelp! here quite a bit and find it pretty spot-on. Downtown also offers great rooftop bars...Grand Bohemian, Starz, Vendue & Market Pavillion offers great views of the city. PS. And for when you are bored (like that would ever happen!) we have a little collection of old school board games, puzzles, chess, cards, etc. Enjoy your stay!

Granny's Guest House has the best of both worlds to offer. We have 5 acres of country living but are 10 miles from downtown Charleston, 13 miles from Kiawah and Seabrook Islands and 4 miles from great restaurants and music venues. Spend the day site seeing in the hustle and bustle of the city and then come home to the peace and quiet of Granny's guest house. The guest house has Wi Fi, television, stereo with turntable and blu tooth . But better than all that technology the guest house has Scrabble, Monopoly, lots of good novels, birding books, backgammon, coloring books and wonderful sitting areas where you can put your feet up and watch nature go by. ( that includes my chickens, ducks, cats and dogs) All of whom are very friendly. With Autumn coming on and with a bit of notice to me, build a bonfire and tell ghost stories or sing and play music. Didn't bring your guitar or drum or accordion? Don't worry you can borrow mine. If you stay at Granny's Guesthouse you've moved into the slow lane. The only thing missing from the guesthouse is a stove but with all of the world class restaurants nearby who needs one? My chickens free range so once in a while you will hear the happy crowing of my roosters. It's just a reminder that life is good!

All sheets and towels are provided. Full galley, bathroom with hot water, and a salon with Direct TV. The interior is mahogany and there is lots of teak on the aft deck. The yacht was fully restored and completed two seasons ago. It accommodates 3 adults easily. The boat is docked near my residence, and parking is free and easy. We will setup our 32' Winnebago Brave on any campground close to Charleston, SC. I am asked very often so here is the answer, there isn't a campground near a beach close to Charleston. The best campground in the area is James Island County Park. There are several commercial campgrounds in Charleston. Try Oak Plantation or Lake Aire. The RV has two air conditioners, electric and propane water heater, propane heat, queen bed, and can sleep six when using the two fold down beds. The kitchen is stocked with typical camping necessities that we use on our trips. It is not stocked like beach rental house due to costs and mobility of the camper. If you have specific questions please ask. We supply linens, towels, and wash clothes. We have some great parks around Charleston. My favorite is James Island County park, but it is everyone else's favorite as well and is often full. My second choice would be Oak Plantation on Savannah Highway. I have water/power/sewer setup on the property where the RV is parked and I do rent it there sometimes. There is an additional $20 a day to use my power/water/propane etc. This is half of what I campground would charge.

The property has an awesome kitchen with marble countertops and a large living area where friends can share a meal and some quality time together. If you want to go downtown it's five minutes away. If you want to walk the gardens, ride or walk the greenway or just stare out across a gorgeous Intracoastal waterway view you can do that right here in West Ashley on your own schedule. All of these options are between 2 and 15 minutes away. Many restaurants in the area deliver independently or participate with GrubHub and UberEats. The Cottage is located in the DuPont section of West Ashley on Wappoo Road between the West Ashley Greenway and the Stono River Overlook ICW at the Edgewater Park Bridge. The building faces a private garden behind a privacy gate and is completely separate from the owners' home which is also on the property. We are located two miles from the Avondale entertainment district and four miles to downtown Charleston and the Medical District. I will provide farm fresh eggs, bacon, and chicken sausage, as well as fresh locally baked bread with my homemade jams and jellies, and local stone ground grits. The house is located on peaceful Johns Island, where you will find farms and horses just up the road. Johns Island has amazing options for dining, and Kiawah's Beachwalker park is not far as well as Downtown Charleston for all your traveling adventures! Property notes: As you consider this property, we want you to be aware of the following: At the back of the property is my office and my kitchen for my business, as well as my beautiful vegetable and flower garden. You can expect to see me coming by daily to water the garden and also to make my jams and cheeses. I'm happy to chat and answer any questions you may have, but I'm also aware you may want your privacy! My office manager and assistant Ms Chandler may also be seen, however we really do not want to intrude when guests are there and we will try our best to not be seen too much. We certainly want to honor your privacy as much as possible and we will never come into the house during your stay. We have weekly landscapers that typically come on Mondays. This is a crew that works efficiently and will not be there too long. To maintain the mosquitos there is a service that comes every two weeks which may occur during your stay. This can be adjusted if you request it. It takes about 3o minutes and you will be notified via your contact info when/if they will be there.

Newly renovated Guest/Pool House located on the 10th hole of the Charleston Municipal Golf Course. Located in the historic Charleston, South Carolina neighborhood, Riverland Terrace. Riverland Terrace was first developed starting in 1925. It is one of James Island, South Carolina's oldest neighborhoods. The Terrace is located 10 minutes west of downtown Charleston along Wappoo Creek and the inland waterway. The neighborhood boasts a public boat landing, Charleston Municipal Golf Course, a playground, sever restaurants, and numerous antique shops. Leading into the neighborhood is the historic Avenue of Oaks, consisting of 73 live oak trees believed to be over 100 years old. The avenue of oaks had been begun about 1910, and the developers completed the installation of the oaks during the landscaping of the neighborhood starting in 1925. In 2017, neighborhood residents had issues with the local electrical company cutting down trees unnecessarily. The Terrace consists of approximately 800 homes. Fort Pemberton, a Civil War fortification built-in 1862, remains today. Our guest house features a shared pool (though we never use), full kitchen, off-street parking, washer, dryer and dishwasher for you to use.
